About
For the Birds is an interactive science lesson built and run by a New York City public school science teacher. It walks 9th grade biology students through a real-world problem — birds colliding with building windows — and guides them to design, test, and evaluate their own solution, in line with the NYSED Life Science: HS-LS2-7 investigation.
The site exists for one purpose: to give students a hands-on, standards-based lab they can complete in class or at home. It is not a commercial product. There are no ads, no pop-ups, no redirects through other domains, and no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
Teachers sign in with a school-provided password to review their own class roster and each student's progress. Students sign in with their name and a personal PIN, and can also explore the full lab without an account.
